Ban Appeal — YUMMCALYX

Hello OctoWow Team,

I created my account today to play with friends. While traveling on the zeppelin from Orgrimmar, my game client crashed (I am running the game on Linux via Wine).

Right after the crash/disconnect, I found that my account was permanently banned. It looks like the sudden disconnect while being on moving transport caused a desync or triggered an automated anticheat false positive.

I do not use any hacks, bots, or third-party tools. Please check the logs around 16:34 server time and restore access.

Thank you!

I've asked the banning GM to see if there was additional evidence they may have taken and stored locally, but for now it looks like this was likely a false positive from the default anti-cheat system.

From what I see, it looks like the added Orgrimar to TB zeppelin does not have the necessary exception made in the anti cheat system which triggered an automated GM alert. I suspect that the GM tried to appear on your character after receiving the notification, and by the time they loaded in you were not in that spot anymore and so the assumption was made that a true speed/exploration hack was being used.

I have gone through all previous bans that have resulted from this warning being thrown on production, specifically looking for if any of them occurred within a few minutes of using any of the travel vessels and found no other potential false positives.

Once confirmation with the GM, we will distribute 200 OctoTokens to your account as compensation for the trouble. Thank you for reaching out!
Sincerely,

Thank you very much. Glad to hear it was just a missing exception for the new zeppelin route. Really appreciate the thorough investigation and the compensation. Have a great day!
