Problem with Disconnection and Route

Post#1 » Thu Aug 06, 2026 1:59 am

I played more than 1 month without this problem and since last night I started having DCs constantly, I made a diagnosis to identify the problem, I would like a contact or email to send logs to the Octo-WoW equipment.

I am experiencing intermittent TCP interruptions and retransmissions specifically when connecting to the destination `185.165.170.6` on TCP port `8091`.

My overall internet connection remains stable, and ping tests to `1.1.1.1` show 0% packet loss. However, during the incidents, the TCP session to `185.165.170.6:8091` showed:

* RTT values between 3.5 and 4 seconds;
* RTO values between 12 and 15 seconds;
* unacknowledged packets;
* TCP retransmissions;
* periods of approximately 24 seconds without receiving any traffic from the destination.

The traceroute/MTR path goes through the AS52320 network and then through AS1299/Twelve99 before reaching Europe.

I kindly request the following:

1. An analysis of the route and peering toward `185.165.170.6`;
2. Verification of packet loss, congestion, or instability affecting TCP traffic on port `8091`;
3. A change of the outbound gateway or routing path, if possible;
4. Removal from CGNAT or the temporary provision of a public IPv4 address for testing purposes;
5. Escalation of this case to the NOC or network engineering team.

I have TCP, ping, traceroute, and MTR logs containing the exact date and time of the incidents, which I can provide for further analysis.

I started experiencing something similar. My internet connection is stable, but everything related to OctoWoW — the website, launcher, and the game itself — is having problems.

The launcher download from the website is extremely slow right now, the game updates through the launcher are also very slow, and my in-game latency is going from 1,000 ms to 13,000 ms.

Everything was working fine yesterday, so it seems like something has changed recently, either with the server or the connection route.

I also ran ping and route tests, and they show normal latency with no packet loss or obvious connection issues. My internet connection appears to be stable when testing other services.

The problem seems to be specific to OctoWoW, affecting the website, launcher, and the game itself. This makes me think it may be related to the server, hosting, or the connection route used by OctoWoW, even though standard ping and traceroute tests look normal.

Thank you both for providing this additional information to us! We have been, and still are trying to nail down the specific cause of relatively frequent but isolated network level issues like this for a few weeks now. What we can confirm is that our server is running healthy during these times and no issues are being detected internally (no TCP issues on our server).

We have set up multiple monitoring endpoints around South America, Europe, and North America, but have yet to catch on of these incidents on those. Our monitoring for server wide traffic disconnects have been stable over the past week so we don't believe that there is any issue cause by recent deployments or changes on our end either.

Looking at the data that you collected, it does appear to be a specific transit segment on some of the more common network paths that are causing these issues. In the meantime we recommend if you have these issues to install and use a VPN to connect to the server, ExitLag is a great one for latency. These usually resolve the issue entirely as the issue lies in the route between your device and our server, so when given a new IP/Route you avoid the problematic segment.

In regards to your specific numbered requests;
1&2: We have done this, and found no issues on the server side
3: Given this is likely a network level routing issue we also don't believe this would help much
4: CGNAT is applies by your ISP, we are unable to move you off it or issue a public IPv4
5: There is nothing for our NOC to do without an on-net fault, but if you manage to find a starting point for your loss (a specific hop/AS) then you can provide that to your ISP who should be able to investigate and fix the issue.
Sincerely,

Hello there . i have similar issue since the ZG update came in my connection is stable and i can log in very fast but get disconnected randomly in game .
i noticed i cannot load the announcements and pathe notes tabs on the launcher and update is very slow but using a V2ray vpn with the tun enable will fix the issue with the launcher but then i get stuck on connected and cant log in.
i pinged and tested many other servers all works fine only problem is octowow servers .
something with the latest update is blocking my ip and kicks me out of server

I have the same issue (North America), and it happens at random. Sometimes I can go 30-45 minutes; other times, it will be a chain of them, 5 minutes apart. My connection is fine as well. It just drops me, than I can reconnect.

Using a VPN as well but still drops.
