Riverglades from WoW Forever

I won't deny it, Forever implements some interesting things. Dalaran, for example, is something I'd like to see here in the future, but what I think is closest is seeing Northwind's "sister" zone, Riverglades. I like the layout, the terrain, and the content, and it's something I'd like to see alongside Turtle WoW's already implemented content, perhaps with different quests that fit the story Turtle is developing.

In the case of Dalaran... I don't know, the zone really clashes because the model itself is gigantic compared to the surrounding mountains. I don't like how they integrated it at all. I mean, its tallest tower is literally taller than the mountains of Alterac, which should be incredibly tall since it always snows there. A smaller version would be appreciated when the time comes.

But for now, I think Riverglades would be a very good addition to MoA.

And no, don't come at me with "Oh no, you're going to steal things from Forever," guys, it's the same franchise, the same story, the same world. MoA wants to follow a different line than retail, and taking things from the official Classic+ isn't a bad thing at all.

Forever's Dalaran is so ugly. It's just the Wotlk model pasted into the Vanilla world. It doesn't fit thematically, artistically and it doesn't even fit in size.

Implave, the 3D artist who created most of Epoch's Classic Plus map additions, talks about rebuilding Dalaran in the Vanilla style in his Epoch video.

Doesn't that just look SO much better? Fits so much more seemlessly to the rest of the Vanilla game?

Riverglades has the same problem, it was made by Retail map makers. There's the tweet from the guy who made this map, you might have read it, he's malding about "I didn't learn how to make maps like back in the days for the past 1 year, only for the redditors to call Forever a retail slop" blah blah

Well it shows. While some of the subzones look straight put of Classic (the human keep for example), some of the subzones look like a Retail mapmaker with Retail mapmaking tools made them.

The river banks, especially, are made in the new style. Vanilla river banks just don't look like that, they look way simpler, less detailed. This is a huge problem for a zone literally called RIVERglades.

There might be another issues, I haven't seen the whole zone yet.

And then there's the story issue. MoA already has an orange tinted forest zone for the humans in the Stormwind area. Northwind also has a story of the Twilight Hammer (altho, a lot more covert and subtle) orcs clashing with the human forces.

Yes, even watching a video, I saw that the ground is "better" textured, I mean, even the paths have marks from where carriages pass (if there were any). A more vanilla recreation in Octo wouldn't be bad instead of importing the area as such.

Overall, I like the composition of the area, although when viewed from below, it feels somewhat chaotic, as if it lacks a clear order.

I disagree for several reasons, but I honestly don't think we should be doing anything like that if for no other reason than to avoid Blizzards attention. It's one thing taking a 25 year old client and adding to it, but taking their current material would just be poking the bear.

There's also the matter of having it fit in naturally. I haven't played or looked into too much of Forever, I'm aware of the Riverlands but I don't actually know where it was on the map for example. Also, cluttering up the existing map with Blizzards content lowers future options for adding community content. I know that isn't even on the radar at the moment for the Octo team but it leaves growing room, you know?
