Never.
Turtle had warnings that INACTIVE characters would be deleted, and players could simply reset the inactivity "countdown" by logging onto it.

And how can u tell that some names aren't reserved for future use?

I've got some level 1 characters that I am saving for once I finish leveling my Warrior. Once he's 60 I was thinking of jumping onto another character and continue the process.
It'd be kinda lame to log into my account and find my character list absent of characters because I focused on a singular character.

because the realms are not even 4 months old

They perma ban accounts, release those names. Give a warning when they plan to release inactive names.

Are you so lazy you cant log into a character to take off "inactive"?

4 months? new players joining and we get scrub names like " KILYAWONDAPET"

I would quit if my lvl 1 bank alts were suddenly deleted after a break from the game but forced name changes on lvl 1 characters after a year or two, that would be fair enough.

Do remember that happend on Turtle at some point, returned after a break and had to rename all my bankalts.
It was a non issue, but it was also quite far into the servers lifespan.

This server is far too young right now though imo.

Turtle wow was around for over 8 years, or something like that. I don't ever recall if nordanaar had names released as I WAS INACTIVE for some time. Came back somepoint to dull dusty characters needing renamed. No worries.

Ambershire. 4 months from start, they warned everyone "characters who have not gone over level 1, inactive, names will be released so others can get names. If you want to keep your names, get them to level 2." Level 2 must be a new feet of strength. I guess.

Characters were not deleted, they were just given a random number to force a name change.
