You seem quite emotional. Maybe touch some grass.
Try: Sheep, Iceblock, blink, rocketboots, grenades, rockethelm.

You also will know by time and with growing experience who pops it and when after a while. You can for example use nova then earlier to trap him in it. Because fap doesnt break already existing roots and stun.

Positioning is everything. After a while you know exactly when it is safe to stay alone or close to teammembers, or when to keep distance.

Keep in mind: They invest quite a bit of gold for a fap. IF you can learn to counter it effectively, they waste it. Fap is not a thing out of their "toolkit" so you are often forced to use tools that are not directly in your mage toolkit to survive or even counter it.

Anyone who calls it Classic instead of Vanilla probably deserves a few more deaths. And no sympathy for mages.
