Bring back Deep Discipline healing build

In the original WoW Vanilla, there were two viable builds for Priest healers: Deep Holy and Deep Discipline. The Deep Holy build provided a +10% healing throughput, while the Deep Discipline build offered a +10% mana increase along with the spell Power Infusion, which aided in DPS. Players had the freedom to choose whichever playstyle they preferred.
For unknown reasons, TWoW reduced priest's healing coefficient by 20% and simultaneously boosted the Deep Holy build by 20%. While there were no changes for Deep Holy, the Deep Discipline build became unplayable. Additionally, Power Infusion was removed and replaced with a weaker passive buff called "Enlighten."
It is confusing why time is being wasted on altering gameplay for the worse. Please consider reverting the original healing coefficient, restoring the "Spiritual Healing" talent, and bringing back Power Infusion.
While TwoW is eliminating active spells, WoW Forever is introducing new ones, such as "Penance."

As a DPS Discipline Priest who never healed in main spec, I agree.
Identity of both Discipline Priest and Survival Hunter were completely changed during CC2 (Class Changes 2) on Turtle WoW. Before, Discipline was the spec for both "Smite Priest" and healers. Its utilities were great for both roles, Disc was like a hybrid support spec that enhances you OR your friends. Turtle WoW made brave decision to change its identity to fully light-oriented DPS spec.
It's funny they replaced iconic and already established Power Infusion because of being highly demanded on raids on specific parsers. The issue according to devs was that only 1 guy could get it in the raid per priest and that often lead to dramas in speedrunning guilds. They replaced this spell with ... something that does almost the same with same problem (Chastise and Enlighten). Yeah, I miss Power Infusion just because it effectively leads to same effect as current Enlighten/Chastise and isn't that clunky.

BTW, I also miss "Reflective Shields" talent from CC1. Such based (though overpowered) talent, could proc effects and scaled with your spell damage.

I reccomend yall to try out 22/29/0. You will still be pressing healing spells ( unlike disc priest in wotlk that just presses shield ) and be able to enlighten ( perma pi ) ur best casters.
Keep deep disc for smites please
dont ever add penance lmao that shit belongs in retail

22/29/0 is nonsense, it’s obvious you don’t know what you are talking about. To get Enlighten you go with 21/30/0, but you missed the point anyway.
What makes a game good? Easy-to-learn basics and a long learning curve. Original vanilla gameplay introduced healing spells for the basics, then added Shield, Dispel and Cure, and on top of that an ACTIVE spell that a priest had to cast in between healing and dispelling. It wasn’t just a PASIVE buff with an RNG effect; it needed effort to learn to use it well. Penance was just an example of another ACTIVE spell that could be introduced to prolong the learning curve, and there are many options to add. For example, in FF14 the AST job literally plays a card minigame in between doing fight mechanics, healing and DPSing at the same time.
A priest didn’t have to go deep Discipline to be a good healer; it even handicapped him a little bit. But if he did, the benefit for the raid was greater if it was played well. Moreover, it added a social aspect: it wasn’t meant to be used on yourself, but on another player. Priest had to coordinate the cast with caster(s) for maximum benefit. Power Infusion is the kind of spell that I would call good gameplay design. Patch 1.17 took everything away. It literally made the gameplay worse than the original, and for what? To please toxic sweats, as Zvyrhol mentioned above? If that’s true, it’s the most pathetic decision I have ever seen.
You mentioned Smite priest. There is no reason to gatekeep healers from going deep Discipline; it doesn’t change anything for Smite.
It’s sad for me; I really loved TWoW 1.16. I had hoped Octo would reverse some of the TWoW screw-ups from patches 1.17 and 1.18, but from what I saw over the past few months, they have no intention of making the game better, let alone listening to the community. But fortunately, there is a solution for that!

No idea what im talking about? I killed kt on hardcore as a priest and i play that build cuz i enjoy being a disc priest.
I forgot to add?. Having 1 priest deep disc is still worth it on octo esp with bwl coming out soon. Having 1 priest with bigger shields to absorb most of the fire breaths from dragons like ony bwl dragons and neff is so good on hardcore!
Go play forever mate and enjoy your penance in retail minus

With a 21/30/0 build, you can reach Enlighten while keeping 5/5 Spiritual Healing, which gives you +30% total healing. Since you chose 22/29/0, you gave up 6% healing throughput from Spiritual Healing. Which specific talent in the Discipline tree did you took instead? Resurgent Shield which is completely useless for PVE? Give me a break.
